My courses run throughout the year. Students are welcome to come for one, two or three weeks. My main focus is on teaching adults but my courses are also popular with teenagers.

I have designed a range of courses to meet the needs of students at all levels.

 

How to choose your course

Choose Option 1 if you are looking for a combination of formal English teaching (2 hours a day) with all meals provided. This course is suitable for all levels. It provides for adults to be completely independent in the afternoons and pursue their own interests. Also choose this course if you are a young person under 18. In this case your activities are more guided.

Choose Option 2 if you would like to have 2 hours of formal teaching a day combined with accompanied visits to local places of interest in the afternoons. This course is more suitable for intermediate and advanced level students. The aim of this course is to help students learn English and to enjoy and understand the local environment. It will appeal to people who are interested in green issues. It is designed for students over 18.

Choose Option 3 if you need intensive English with the focus on formal lessons.

This course is suitable for academics, business or professional people at all levels. It is designed for adults who can be independent outside of lesson time.

Option 1. English in Cornwall

English in Cornwall is available at all levels, for beginners, intermediate or advanced students. It is a practical course focused on your learning needs and interests. It includes two hours of taught English in the morning and all meals. You have a choice of interesting and enjoyable leisure options in the afternoon, where you can practice your English and enjoy your favourite activities away from your teacher.

Option 2. Experience Cornwall

I run structured courses during the summer from my home in Lostwithiel. These courses give you 2 hours of English lessons in the mornings. In the afternoons there are planned excursions based around the beautiful River Fowey.
Your escort (usually me) on these local trips will always be a native English speaker. At weekends you are free to explore the rest of Cornwall on your own. This particular course runs for one or two weeks at a time.

Option 3. Specialist English

This course is available all year round and is built around your individual learning needs. For example, you may be a business person or an academic needing to learn specialist English. This course gives you 3 hours of formal lessons a day without the programmed outings described in Option 2.
